There are about 60,000 pediatricians in the United States. The fact that a smug, arrogant, anti-vaxx "medical freedom" lawyer can find a few of them to have a love fest with should influence no one. Siri has shown time and time again that he fails to understand the most basic principles of immunology, research methodology and statistics (see my article where I point out the many serious errors in a post of his). He has the audacity to say that Dr. Sears’ experience should count more than the studies utilizing tens of millions of medical records that provide irrefutable evidence of the strong benefit/risk profile of vaccines. No one can deny these data and quality analyses. Siri ignores them. Lovers of Siri’s flawed and biased book don't want to learn about how easy it is to find fatal flaws in what he presents. We live in a truly strange world when those with no subject matter expertise choose someone with no subject matter expertise as their expert. To make matters even more perverse, these same people refuse to listen to true experts who can easily reveal Siri's incompetence because they believe that the experts are too dogmatic when they cling to their facts. These facts were firmly established via the scientific method but that seems to not matter if you don't like the reality that they are revealing.

The bias is found in Sears himself who rejects scientific consensus in favor of unsupported personal beliefs leading to a strong confirmation bias. Siri tries to dismiss retrospective observational studies because of confounds while ignoring that parents go to Sears for a reason… he's anti-vaxx. Quality research tries to control for confounds and Siri doesn't know how this is done nor has he ever pointed out valid potential confounds that were so concerning that they would invalidate results.
There are many great posters on substack that are conveying quality knowledge with no political agenda. These are the people you should learn from. Some of what they say might turn out to be wrong as alternate hypotheses are proposed, tested and accepted as the “new truth". This is the means of making progress in scientific pursuits. Taking a wrecking ball to the sturdy foundation of a well-built structure to replace it with a flimsy and unstable house of cards only leads to one inevitable result. Avoiding a collapse leading to childhood contagion should be seen as a moral imperative.
