I appreciate very much the good advice. I'm being prevented from helping my friend, and she's furious about being held prisoner and medical treatment she wants to get is being withheld by her sister. I'm doing everything I can to help her, but until I can provide her anything but wishes, I'm completely prevented from helping her at all.
I will be calling Graith Care in a couple hours, as they got my call too late to act yesterday, according to the message they sent me yesterday. Additionally I have a mutual friend with Kathy that has taken PoA from her sister and cares for her mother now, who told me yesterday she is arranging for a notary that can meet us where she is being held captive to re-assign PoA to me, so that I can help Kathy live where she wants, get treatment she wants, and live and die as she wants.
I also have a Zoom meeting with counsel referred to me by the Bar, but whom I know nothing about, and have little expectations of. Everyone I know that knows Kathy is praying for her, and yesterday when I spoke with her over the phone she was weeping and begging me to help her. I cannot describe the emotional impact this has on me, but my intention is to meet her expectations that I will help her to escape her captivity and save her from being condemned to death by medical neglect.
I don't want to speculate regarding the motivations of her sister, whom I have never met and only spoken to briefly on the phone, but I note she has lied to me at least three times, and I have no confidence in her benevolent intentions towards her sister. I will serve Kathy will all my heart, soul, and everything I am and have, and let God judge humanity, as I am a worthless judge.
Please pray for my friend. I am aware of published research that the good will of people for others has real beneficial impact. All I can do is my best to set her free, and that is my primary focus for the rest of her life.
